The magnesium thickened case offers first-class damage protection of the hard drive, the display and other sensitive components.
In addition the hard drive is mounted in shock-absorbing polymers to help insulate against vibration and shock, helping it withstand a fall from a height of 76 cm without damage. A non-breakable rubber seal covers all vital interfaces and connections.
